The Practice

“I choose to look to nature and the joys of love to keep me going.” — Malebo Sephodi.

The Emotional Recovery Program takes a restorative approach to healing, fostering peace and well-being on both an individual and collective level. This journey is grounded in the practice of Restorative Storytelling, a transformative method that draws on neuroscience and Indigenous knowledge.

Restorative Storytelling Circles offer a life-affirming path that goes beyond traditional trauma responses. Our approach is centered on improving mental wellness through practices that promote rest, reduce stress, reconnect us to our bodies, and heal the deep-rooted effects of trauma and overwhelm that shape our lives.

The Emotional Recovery journey honors the internal wisdom that is always present within us. This work involves contemplative and somatic practices, cultivating psychological safety, self-compassion, and a sense of belonging. It is a collaborative process that connects us to the land, our surroundings, and the natural rhythms of the seasons.

By embracing our intuitive wisdom, we empower ourselves to self-govern our health and well-being, reclaiming our health sovereignty. This process is not about "fixing" anyone, as there are no "experts" in this practice—only individuals working together in healing.
